Hi. My name is Kiel. I’m an artist based in San Diego. After a disillusioning pursuit in academia, I spent ten years working in a variety of trades related to the construction industry as a means of expanding my capacity for artistic expression. In addition to tile, I also work in carpentry and painting to develop specialized projects .
I live and travel out of a 2014 Mercedes Sprinter 2500 (#vanlife), featuring my first serious mosaic projects. When I’m not stepping on broken glass and grinding callouses into the tips of my fingers, I’m exploring this beautiful country, studying philosophy and literature, or practicing yoga. Maybe I’m smoking a bowl and watching a kung fu movie.
